Baby Playing with Building Blocks

Infants

Infants use all of their senses as they explore the world around them. In our infant class, our teachers read to the babies, sing, and use ASL ( American Sign Language).

Starting in infancy, children develop millions of neurological connections through their everyday experiences. So, we make it a point to engage with your little one throughout the day because we know that is how babies begin to learn language and conversation; ultimately helping them recognize words and sounds.

Our teachers share written reports on a daily basis about your infants' activities and developments. And we love to hear information shared by our parents as well because that helps us build a mutual understanding and properly document their milestones.

All teachers are required to follow the highest standards for health and safety. This is comprised of a set cleaning schedule that includes proper hand washing procedures, discarding diapers, disinfecting and sanitizing all stations, and frequent sanitation of toys and equipment.

Toddlers

Our Toddler Program is specifically designed to meet the needs of your inquisitive toddler. With a small teacher-to-student ratio, we are able to focus more individual attention on each child. We gently encourage your child to reach important early milestones through play-based learning where they engage in real‐life and imaginary activities.

ASL (American Sign Language) is continued in the toddler class to help your child communicate basic wants and needs while they are developing their verbal language skills.

In the AMW Toddler classroom, the curriculum focuses on your child's emerging interests and skills. Therefore, our teachers are able to customize daily goals that are different from child to child, which will stimulate the child's curiosity.

The main goals of the AMW Toddler classroom are:

  • Developing basic language skills

  • Visual processing

  • Concentration

  • Problem-solving

  • Physical coordination

Preschool

In our Preschool class, we combine structured play and learning experiences in a fun and nurturing environment. Even though we have a structured preschool curriculum, our teachers are trained to understand the individual needs of each child. While they are developing their vocabulary, language, and math skills, teachers are watching and documenting mental notes of each child's skill set.

Some of  the important concepts we focus on in our Preschool class include the following:

  • Writing letters and numbers

  • Gross and fine motor skills

  • Colors

  • Shapes

  • Cutting

  • Gluing

  • Drawing/painting

  • Days of the week, months of the year

  • Weather/ Nature

  • Physical Activities

  • Sharing

  • Making Transitions

Pre-K

Our Pre-K Program is designed specifically to ensure students are ready to SOAR in Kindergarten. Our goal is to set children up for a bright future with unlimited possibilities.

In our  Pre-K class, your child will start to expand their vocabulary, connect letter sounds through the teaching of Phonics, and express thoughts through writing.  Our Pre-K curriculum builds on your child’s earlier learning experiences in math, literacy, vocabulary, problem-solving, and fine and gross motor skills; allowing our teachers to strengthen their social and cognitive skills.

AMW kindergartners read stories, solve real-life logic problems, enter the world of S.T.E.M., add and subtract, and they begin to understand fractional parts.

Your child will receive a quarterly assessment to provide teachers with the information needed to measure their progress and growth. These assessments aids us in making sure that we are providing your child with the best learning experiences needed to succeed in Kindergarten.
